The most interesting part of this class this year, would be some of our new projects and papers we wrote this year. I liked how she tried to make some of the work more interactive or hands on. Like Pretending we're going back in time, to meet people that we're researching our paper on.
The most boring/useless part of this class, would be when we had to do study island for exemptions from finals. I personally found it to be pointless, because I always had too many absences to get any exemptions anyways. Also, it was not very helpful in studying for our ACT testing.
The hardest I laughed in class would definitely be when our class would start to pick on Miss Hudson for getting so excited/ into some of our more "demented" stories.
My favorite memory about this class, is that we never got a letter on the board for talkiing in class. because of this accomplishment, after each quarter we got a special Casey's Pizza Day, and Movie Day for our class.
The best thing about Miss Hudson, is that she is able to connect with the students easily. She is a new teacher this year, so she is younger than some of our older teachers, so she knows how to make assignments that students actually enjoy to do, so we can get into the projects more efficiently.
There isn't much to improve about this class. It was very fun, and easy to enjoy. One thing I would suggest, might be more time during reading days, to get reading done for our book report books.

My Advise To You? (Week 31)
Well speaking to those sophomores who are about to become Juniors, you have a lot to learn. You're coming up on your final years of high school, then you have to go out into the real world and figure out what you want to do with your life. I learned that you should definitely get a job as soon as you are old enough, and make sure you learn how to save your money. Also, you want to take the honors classes, because they're basically the same, but you get more credits than in regular classes. Lastly, prepare yourself for the ACT's as best as you can. they are definitely not easy, and a very important teset that you definitely want to make sure study for.
Who Am I?! (Week 30)
Well I can easily decide the 5 people I would trust to rebuild my identity in my own memory. Those 5 people would be: My mother of course, My oldest brother Nate, My boyfriend Evan, My childhood best friend (1st grade-6th grade) Chase Wilson, and my teacher Mrs. Taylor.
1.) My Mom- She knows just about everything there is to know about me. She could tell me memories from being an infant, my first steps, my first words, and all about my schooling from grades Pre-K to like 8th grade. things like: in 1st grade my principal wanted to move me up a grade, or all the sports I've been in (every sport offered to girls up until 9th grade)
2.) Nate- Nate could fill me in on things we always kept from our parents. About all of our personal things, and crazy fun things that I've done. he could tell me embarrassing stories about me, and the family. He could tell me about all of the good and bad times we've been through together as a family. The times where we had to stick together or we could've completely fallen apart. But also all the laughs, and holidays, and games we used to play. -- This would be my favorite expert
3.) Evan- He could obviously remind me about our relationship together. And special occasions we have spent together, like Christmas morning, Vacations, and Easter with his family (etc.) He would also be the best expert to fill me in on my job. This is because I work at a place where his mom is the manager and she knows the owner of the store really well. I know he would tell me that I'm a responsible worker, who is (99% of time) on time for work if not early. Also who puts forth 100% effort into anything I do and catches on really quick.
4.) Chase- When Chase and I became friends, we were inseparable from the start. We did everything, you hardly ever saw one of without the other. She would obviously tell me about that, and be able to tell me about what grade school was like, from an inside point (unlike my mom). She could tell me how I interacted with students, and how I behaved in school. A good description of that would be: in grade school I was always pretty popular, and very outgoing. I have never been afraid to express my opinions about a person or topic. I was always top of my class (like I said under my moms), and that I had perfect attendance all the way through 6th grade. Also, that I never even got below a B on my report card. She could also tell me how we could sometimes be little trouble makers, like one time I got caught giving her answers on a test, or going places on our bike rides we were told not to go
5.) Mrs. Taylor- Lastly, my high school English/Foreign Language teacher, would be my best resource for how I was in high school, because at that point, I didn't talk to my mom much about what went on in school. Although I only had Her for 1 or 2 classes a year, she was still able to observe the things I did and went through my first 3 years of high school so far. She always saw potential in me, and actually kept me after class one day to tell me that., and that she worried I didn't "take advantage of that potential" the way I should be, (I guess), so she would probably tell me about that. Also, she would tell me by in her French 3 class, we kinda "butted heads" a lot, and how I kinda got "overly frustrated" sometimes in that class.

Underwater Adventure (Week 29)
The world is under water, everything is flooded, our last option is to get in the submarine and just set sail. We would travel deep below the surface of the water, to places unknown to mankind. Down there, we would make tremendous discoveries that could change Earth forever. We would find things, such as undiscovered species and plants that have new kinds of components in them, that can accomplish amazing things, such as cures for diseases or healing "powers". There is very little mankind left, but our class all managed to survive. When returning to the surface, we would present the many things we found to National Science Organizations, and become the most famous, courageous, accomplished English class in World History.
Thank you, Friend (Week 28)
Dear Nate,
You have always been there for me, as a brother and as my friend. You've believed in me, even when I gave up myself. You're more than a friend, you are family... We've stuck together through thick and thin. At times, I get down, and start to lose confidence. But I know, if I come to you, you'll always know what to say to make me feel better. When I get frustrated with Mom and Dad, you know how to calm me down, and remind me that there's no point in stressing over it if I can't change the outcome. When I start to get overwhelmed or stressed with an overload of things, you help me to step back, and get everything under control. You're the best big brother, and friend a sister could ask for... I love you N***a!

How to Love (Week 27)
My favorite song is How to Love, By Li'l Wayne. My story is going to be based on a girl, who gets to meet cupid. Cupid is on a mission to teach this girl the true meaning of "love", because she has never encountered a person who has experienced that feeling. The girl, Emma, was sleeping in her bed one night, when cupid comes floating into her room to awaken her. Scared to have a flying stranger in her room, Emma begins swatting at him with her pillow to scare him away. After being attacked, cupid introduces himself, and informs her that they are to go on a journey. Reluctant, but kind of interested, Emma leaves with him. First, he shows her how her parents act together (what she currently perceives as "being in love"), not thinking anything weird of this, Emma asks Cupid, what the point of their journey is, which he replies with "I'm here to show you what true happiness shared between 2 people is like." Emma takes this to be a joke, so she leaves. Cupid is restricted from forcing Emma into going with him, so he must let her go. Emma grows up in the same environment Cupid was trying to shield her from, her entire life. And never learns... How To Love... What a sad story...

Seahorses, Forever! (Week 26)
My favorite video to watch on Youtube, is just a simple image
of an animated lizard talking about random, but hilarious things. The video can
be found under: “Seahorses, Forever!” What makes this video so funny is the
back story of it, and how it originated. These guys took a video of their
friend, under the influence, sitting in front of a muted TV, and commenting on
the things that he sees. Personally, I don’t like “Gangnam Style” or the “Harlem
Shake”. I just find them to be annoying, and overplayed. Although I do agree of
how they got their video to become so popular. What makes a video go viral
consists of different things: 1) your video has to reach out to a specific
audience (has to be something people will be interested in). 2) Then you have
to get the word out about the video (spread the word in school, or via Facebook
and hope people tell their friends. 3) lastly, you just sit back and watch your
video go up in views. I don’t think I could make a video go viral, mostly
because I don’t have the interest or motivation in putting that work in to be
the most popular thing on the web. I prefer to focus on the more important
things.
My Theme Song (Week 25)
The theme song of my life, would be very upbeat and catchy. It
would be portrayed as a happy, positive song.. until you actually listened to
the words. The words would almost be depressing, and dreary to illustrate the “mask”
people put on in public to hide the true mysteries of their life. It would do
that, because people would hear the happy music and think, okay the story line
will be happy too.. then they pay attention and learn the truth. I don’t know
what kind of lyrics would go with it, but I do know who I’d have perform it. It
would be, “The Gin Blossoms”, only because they also do the theme song to my
favorite TV show in the world, which is, “Friends”

Inside Jokes (Week 24)
My brother (Nate), Jimmy, and I have a lot of random inside jokes that most people wouldn't get. I don't remember how most of them started, but we still use them all the time. Our most common one would be saying "Yooooop" to each other. When one of us replies to something using "Yup", we all start to repeat it by saying, "Yoooop", (O's make 'AH' sound). That one i can't remember why we started to do. We also have this thing we do, where we say "Swag; Nose Flick" and kinds of *flick our noses*. Nate and Jimmy started that one, where like if one of us does or says something cool, that's what we do. Another one is one that Nate and I started where we randomly say, "My Boots" in a kind of weird accent. We were waiting in the car one time, while my mom was in the gas station.. and were having a conversation... and somehow ended up discussing footwear, and started saying it now whenever we say something about boots or shoes. Lastly, one between a group of my friends, including Tyler E., is saying, "It's the wind, maaan". Tyler was telling a story one time, trying to explain why the weather is... the way it is. And any explanation he could come up with just ended with "It's the wind, Mannnn!"
2/22/13
Off To Paris (Week 23)
I would definitely chooose to go to Paris, France. It is said to be one of the most romantic cities in the world. I would obviously go with my boyfriend, and we'd do all kinds of amazing things. I've always wanted to see the Eiffel Tower, and meet real French people, who speak the language fluently. I'd want to visit all kinds of museums, and places that express the natural history of the country. Also, there is a huge, famous museum that Mrs. Taylor would always talk about, which is called "Le Louvre." We'd walk the streets of Paris, trying all of the delicious, famous treats like: Croissants or Crepes. After a long day of strolling the town, we'd settle down for a romantic night looking at the stars and the beautiful city lights. Paris would be the most beautiful, extravagant place I could ever think to go.
2/14/13
Love Me (Week 22)
What do I love about myself? Well... It's kind of hard to think of things about myself that I like, because as a "typical" American, teenage, girl, I find it easier to point out my flaws. But here it goes...
I'm really smart, which is definitely a plus. I can miss like 20 days in a semester, and come to class late even more, and still get exceptional grades. I'm a straight A student, although, as many people know, my attendance isn't quite as good. I don't have to try hard to do great in school, which I like a lot, because I'm not a huge fan of showing up anyways. Also, it can be seen as an advantage or disadvantage, but personally.. I like that I am short. I can hide in the crowds, so I'm not easily noticed. Which is nice, because I don't like social confrontation very much. So in short... there are some good qualities that come with being me.

Celebrity Crush (Week 21)
I wouldn't exactly say I have a "crush" on any celebrities, but I would have to say my favorite actor is Haley Joel Osment. He used to be in a lot more movies when he was younger, and I used to think he was cute. I haven't seen him do any acting recently, but it would still be pretty cool to meet him. Not only because he has the same name as me, but I've been crazy about him as an actor since I was little. He always plays very inspirational characters, that "make the story". He played in movies such as: Sixth Sense, Pay It Forward (which is like my favorite movie ever), and Second Hand Lions. Aside from his acting skills, I always used to be obsessed with his hair, which back when I was younger would consider "Sexy".
2/1/13
My Last 24 Hours (Week 20)
There would be a lot of things I would want to do if it was my last day to be alive. I would definitely spend it with my family, and my boyfriend. We would do things I always wanted to do, but never got the chance. We'd go ice skating, and to the fanciest restaurant in the world. Then we would take a super jet (flies at the speed of light) all the way to France to see Paris, and all the beautiful scenery in a different part of the world. Then we'd go back to the United States, and visit famous places throughout the country. Such as: Mount Rushmore, Disney Land, The Golden Gate Bridge, The Ocean, and one place I've always dreamed of going... An abandoned/condemned insane asylum (haunted), plus an insane asylum that is still functioning, so I could go in and see all of the crazy people. Then with my last few hours, I would spend some alone time with my boyfriend. We would have a perfect romantic dinner, and watch the sunset along the west coast, and fall asleep under the stars and wait for time to stop.

The Truth About Me (Week 19)
There’s not many things about me that are a secret, but of
course in Washburn… What is? There are some things that certain people who don’t
know me very well might find surprising though.
First, my mom is a dog breeder, so we always have tons of
ankle biters running around the house. We usually have 15 to 25 dogs at home.
From Yorkies to Poodles, Pomeranians to Shitzus, and Maltese to mix breeds. We
have it all.
Also, I’m only 4 foot 11 inches, but I can jump over 13 feet
in long jump for track. Most people wouldn’t guess that by looking at me.
Lastly, I live with my mom, 2 brothers, and my step dad (who
has raised me since I was like 6, so I consider him my real daddy at heart). But
I also have an older sister, Brittany, who is my dad’s daughter. She is 25 and
lives in Peoria with her husband, Curt, and my adorable 5 year old niece,
Lillyan Grace Evans.
1/18/13
My Brother, My Best Friend (Week 18)
I have 2 older brothers. One is 19 and one is 18, so we are pretty close in age. Nate is 19 and DaKota (Spazz) is 18, Nate is like my best friend, one inside "joke" we have is that we call each other our N***a. We hang out just about every day, and he's the person I go to whenever I need someone to talk to. We have plenty of inside jokes, and funny memories, most of which I can't discuss... We have a lot of "phrases" we say that most people don't understand such as... "Yuuuup", "My Boots", "Si Mooone", etc. We always watch TV together on his laptop, and just laugh at the most retarded things... It's usually me, Nate, DaKota, and out best friend Jimmy hanging out at our house. We can be sitting and doing nothing, and never seem to get bored. It is amazinggg... Nate is the one person I can never seem to get mad at. I love my brothers and everything we do together.
Year 3013 (Week 17)
I wake after a 1,000 year slumber, and to my suprise I see purple people floating around in bubbles. I look out the window and see floating buildings hovering above a world filled with water. I go to leave the building until I notice a sign that says no oxygen beyond this point. Next to the sign is a bubble i can ride in filled with oxygen. I climb in and quickly adjust to how to control it. Nobody I find speaks English, until I find a restaurant named, "The Last McDonalds In The Universe" I go in and find a bunch of normal colored people all speaking English. I ask what is new over the past 1,000 years, and get overwhelmed with information. They tell me the water is safe to swim in though, so I swim underwater and find underwater shops as well. There were Rent-A-Rocket-Ship stores, so I get in one, and discover i can fly to mars or any other deminsion I can imagine. The future would be so amazing, and there would be millions of new discoveries and inventions.
